Modern timing system and video display are installed in the Stroitel Swimming Pool for the U19 European Women’s Water Polo Championships.
Swiss Timing/Omega is one of the world’s leading information providers at sports events. The company specializes in timing and scoring services. Swiss timing system and video displays are well proven at the Olympic Games and numerous world championships. Now this equipment is installed in Stroitel Swimming Pool. It fulfills international requirements and will be used not only at the U19 European Women’s Water Polo Championships, but many other major sport events in Chelyabinsk.
“I have discussed with the Water Sports Federation the possibility of holding here the 2013 Russian Finswimming Championships. Moreover, Society for Disabled proposed us to host the Russian Swimming Championship for the visually impaired. And it’s just the beginning”, the director of the Stroitel Swimming Pool Sergey Filippov says.
An electronic scoreboard (6×4 meters), made by Nata Info Company, is set over a big bath of the swimming pool. New equipment provides fans with better quality pictures than an old graphic information board. The scoreboard is completely synchronized with the modern timing system.
Touch screens take the time of start and finish at the slightest touch. The screens are installed on trampolines. The system records the moment when jumper takes his foot off the surface, and immediately transmits the data to the scoreboard.
Special equipment for referees with the video replays is also installed. The only possible deviation – one hundredth of a second. The same devices were used at the London Olympics.
