Russia has named preliminary squad for the U19 European Women’s Water Polo Championships that will be held in Chelyabinsk on September 9-16. According to the head coach of the Russian team Pavel Nakoriakov, at least 7 girls from Zlatoust will join the junior national team.
All countries that take part in the event have a right to select 13 athletes for the Euro-2012. Most of the participants have already made their decisions.
Seven athletes from “Uralochka-ZMZ” (Zlatoust) will definitely compete at the championships: Olga Belova, Maria Savchuk, Nadezda Yarondajkina, Ksenia Hromova, Elvina Karimova, Natalia Perfilieva and Valeria Kolmakova.
The final squad will be announced after trainings in Chelyabinsk Stroitel Swimming Pool on September 1st. Maybe some more people from the South Ural region will be selected to the team. Everything depends of the coaching staff opinion leading by Pavel Nakoryakov.
The Russian best athletes that took part at the London Olympics are also expected in squad – Anna Karnauh (‘Kinef’, Krishi), Olga Belova (‘Uralochka-ZMZ’, Zlatoust) and Diana Antonova (SKIF, Moscow).
